What is Youtube Partner Program ?
The YouTube Partner Program allows creators to monetize content on YouTube through a variety of ways including advertisements, paid subscriptions, and merchandise. In addition to joining the Partner Program, Creators can take advantage of the variety of resources, features, and programs that YouTube provides to help you build your channel(s) and your audience.
Benefits of the YouTube Partner Program
As a YouTube Partner, your eligible videos may earn money from relevant ads and/or fees. Other benefits of the Partner Program include:
Expand your earning potential - YouTube is the largest online video community in the world, allowing you to reach a global audience with your monetized content.
Gain flexibility through a non-exclusive agreement - YouTube doesn’t restrict where partners can upload and distribute their content, allowing you to monetize your content on YouTube and elsewhere.
Track and manage your performance - YouTube Analytics provides a variety of reports to help you track your YouTube performance and earnings, and gain insights that may help you improve.
How to join the YouTube Partner Program
You can now sign up for the YouTube Partner Program in more than 60 countries. Please ensure that you meet the criteria for YouTube partnership and then follow the steps to become a partner.
Criteria for YouTube partnership
Your YouTube channel may be eligible for the YouTube Partner Program if it meets the following criteria:
The program has launched in your country.* (If the program is not available in your country, you will see a notification in your monetization settings.)
Your account is in good standing and hasn't previously been disabled for monetization.
You upload original, quality content that is advertiser-friendly.
Your video content complies with our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
You have reviewed our copyright education materials.

Please note: you may not be able to monetize videos which use any of the following without the explicit permission of the person who created or produced all material:
Music (including cover songs, lyrics, and background music)
Graphics and pictures (including photographs and artwork)

Users in some countries may still need to apply through an application form.
Become a YouTube partner
Becoming a partner is easy: if your account is eligible, you may opt yourself in to the YouTube Partner Program.
Enable your channel for monetization
To check your channel's eligibility and opt in:
Visit the Monetization tab in your account settings.
If your account is in good standing and hasn't been previously disabled for monetization, click Enable My Account.
Follow the steps to accept the YouTube Monetization agreement.
You may see a different message if your your account is not enabled for monetization.
Monetize your videos
You may enable eligible videos to earn money from relevant ads after you opt in your channel for monetization. This guide has more information about how you can enable monetization for specific videos.
To be considered a YouTube partner and access promotional and skill-building opportunities, you must have at least one video approved for monetization.
Note: you may have applied for partnership but it's not required anymore unless you live in Turkey, Russia, Italy or Ukraine.

Multi-channel networks (MCNs)
Multi-Channel Networks (MCNs, or “networks”) are entities that affiliate with multiple YouTube channels, often to offer content creators assistance in areas including product, programming, funding, cross-promotion, partner management, digital rights management, monetization/sales, and/or audience development. MCNs are not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
Whether or not to join an MCN is an important decision. You should do your homework and make the decision that works for you. Thoroughly investigate the MCN’s track record and evaluate the benefits being promised against your obligations to the network.
Considerations when joining a Multi-Channel Network
If you're not currently a YouTube partner, you may want to learn about the benefits of becoming a individual YouTube partner, including monetization and international support. If you're already a YouTube partner, think about whether joining an MCN is likely to improve your performance. Check out the Ad Performance reports in your YouTube Analyticsto understand your current performance as it relates to what an MCN offers.
Here are a few questions to consider when evaluating whether to join an MCN:
MCN value proposition: How is the MCN different from other YouTube MCNs in terms of services they're offering, creators in the MCN, vertical focus, location, contract, and payments to you? Are their services consistent with your goals?
Contract: What are the terms around leaving the MCN or termination from the MCN? What is the contract length? Note that we discourage contracts that include perpetuity clauses.
Partner support: What type of partner support will you be receiving? Will they help you optimize your channel? Whom can you contact if you have an issue and what is the support turnaround time?
Promotion: How will they promote your channel? Will there be collaboration opportunities with other creators in the MCN, and how likely are you to participate in those?
Transparency: Will you get visibility into your earnings once you join the MCN?
Location/Language: Is the MCN based in your time zone and will this impact support turnaround time? Will they be able to assist you with local opportunities? Are there any language barriers?
Ad sales: Do they have an ad sales team for your region or vertical, and how will that benefit you?
You may wish to consult legal counsel before entering into any agreement with an MCN, so that you fully understand (1) your commitment to the network and (2) what benefits they are committing to you. Note that YouTube is not involved directly in these agreements, as they are between the MCN and you, the channel owner.
Considerations when leaving a Multi-Channel Network
Most MCNs may ask you to enter into a binding agreement when you join. YouTube has no involvement in your agreement, and will not be able to terminate your relationship with that MCN.
If you wish to leave an MCN, you'll need to ask the MCN to release your YouTube channel from their account. YouTube is unable to provide advice regarding disputes between channel owners and MCNs.
Regaining partner status
If you leave an MCN, your channel will revert back to its partnership status from before joining the MCN.
If you weren't a partner before joining the MCN, you may become one, and you can learn more here. If you were a partner before joining the MCN, your account will revert to its original partnership status. It's your responsibility to work with the MCN to ensure all relevant assets are released or transferred to your new account. Assuming you meet all the other criteria for YouTube partnership, you'll need to submit your videos for monetization review.
Monetization is Not available for my account
You can check whether your account is available for monetization on the Monetization tab in your account settings.
Users in some countries may still have to apply for the YouTube Partner Program via an application, in which case the message "This feature is currently not available in your country" will appear.
If you see the message "Your monetization tab has been disabled," this means your account isn't eligible for monetization as it may not be in good standing or may have been disabled for monetization previously.
Opt in to YouTube partner updates
Periodically, the YouTube team will send out updates and optimization tips via email newsletters. In order to receive these updates and tips, you'll need to opt in to receive email communications.
To do this:
Sign in to YouTube.
Visit the Emails section of your Account Settings.
Under the YouTube Newsletters heading, check the box next to General updates (including YouTube Broadcast).
Click Save.
Once you've opted in to receiving these occasional updates, we'll include you in our next partner newsletter and other updates.
Opt out of the YouTube Partner Program
To opt out of the YouTube Partner Program, you may disable ads on your monetized videos. You can do this either from your Video Manager or from your Channel Settings page, by selecting the radio button next to "Do not allow advertisements to be displayed alongside my videos."

There are many channel features available to help you customize your channel and support your brand. These features are available to all creators who have verified accounts and are in good standing.

Scheduled Publishing
Scheduled publishing allows partners to schedule a private video to go public at a later time. The video will remain private until the specified scheduled publish time.
You can schedule a video publish time only if you set the video as private or scheduled on the upload landing page. The scheduled publishing feature allows you to precisely choose the date, time, and time zone at which you want your video to be sent to subscribers.
After you have selected a scheduled publish time, you can adjust the scheduled time, or publish the video immediately by setting it as public in the video manager.
Go to your Video Manager page. You will see a Scheduled icon next to the video in question.
Click the Edit icon next to the scheduled video
In the Privacy settings, you can adjust the scheduled publish time accordingly, or change the video to Public to publish it immediately.
Merch annotations
Merch annotations provide creators a way to promote their licensed merchandise directly in their videos. To use Merch annotations you need to verify your account and make sure it is in good standing. You can check if your channel meets this criteria on the YouTube Settings/Features
Enable external annotation links
To create Merch annotations, you first need to enable external annotation links:
Navigate to your account Annotations tool.At the top of the menu you'll see a banner that says “Enable your account for external annotation links.” Click the Enable button on this banner.Accept the Terms & Conditions. Create a Merch annotation
Once you've enabled external annotations links, you can create links from your videos to approved external retail sites where you sell related merchandise.
By using this feature, you agree that you will only link to merchandise that you directly own/license. Violating any of the Terms & Conditions can result in the removal of this feature or your partnership status.
From your Video Manager, click the downwards arrow next to the "Edit" button of the video you want to change, then click Annotations.Click the Add annotation button to create a new annotation, or select an existing annotation.Check the 'Link' checkbox to add a retail url, then choose the Merch category in the drop-down menu.When you’ve placed an approved retailer link and have finished editing your annotation, select Save and/or Publish.
Please note that video playback stops when a user clicks an annotation in your video, which can impact your watch time metrics.
Approved retailers and example links
Merch Annotations can link to your storefront or an individual product. URLs entered into the annotations editor must be formatted correctly in order to link correctly.
YouTube Shows
A YouTube show is an episodic or consistently themed web series consisting of a cast along with one or various topics, styles, and/or storylines. A viewer can subscribe directly to a show as opposed to an entire channel.
All episodes in a show are created by a single partner, organized into seasons and delivered consistently. Episodes may be ad-supported, purchased by rental or not monetized at all.
Does my channel qualify for the Shows feature?
The Shows feature is in limited release to partners. For examples of current shows, please visit Youtube Show Examples
The YouTube Shows feature is only available to select YouTube partners. Partners who have been approved for this feature have presented us with examples of web series that
have thematic consistency,have a consistent cast, topic, style, and/or stroryline,
are episodic, and have the ability to be segmented into seasons.
Why can't I create a new show?
We are in the process of more deeply integrating the Shows feature with other parts of YouTube, such as channels and playlists. The new series playlist feature is a great way to organize your episodic content moving forward.

After you have selected a scheduled publish time, you can adjust the scheduled time, or publish the video immediately by setting it as public in the video manager.
Go to your Video Manager page. You will see a Scheduled icon next to the video in question.
Click the Edit icon next to the scheduled video
In the Privacy settings, you can adjust the scheduled publish time accordingly, or change the video to Public to publish it immediately.
Merch annotations
Merch annotations provide creators a way to promote their licensed merchandise directly in their videos. To use Merch annotations you need to verify your account and make sure it is in good standing. You can check if your channel meets this criteria on the YouTube Settings/Features
Enable external annotation links
To create Merch annotations, you first need to enable external annotation links:
Navigate to your account Annotations tool.At the top of the menu you'll see a banner that says “Enable your account for external annotation links.” Click the Enable button on this banner.Accept the Terms & Conditions. Create a Merch annotation
Once you've enabled external annotations links, you can create links from your videos to approved external retail sites where you sell related merchandise.
By using this feature, you agree that you will only link to merchandise that you directly own/license. Violating any of the Terms & Conditions can result in the removal of this feature or your partnership status.
From your Video Manager, click the downwards arrow next to the "Edit" button of the video you want to change, then click Annotations.Click the Add annotation button to create a new annotation, or select an existing annotation.Check the 'Link' checkbox to add a retail url, then choose the Merch category in the drop-down menu.When you’ve placed an approved retailer link and have finished editing your annotation, select Save and/or Publish.
Please note that video playback stops when a user clicks an annotation in your video, which can impact your watch time metrics.

Video quality
To give you the best viewing experience possible, YouTube adjusts the quality of your video stream from standard definition (such as 240p or 360p) to high definition (720p or 1080p), based on the speed of your Internet connection (bandwidth). This is why you may notice that the quality of your video changes as you watch videos.
Here are some other factors that determine video quality:
Video player size: By default, the quality setting will be on “Auto” and YouTube will use the highest quality based on your video player size.
Quality of the original uploaded video: For example, if the video was recorded in standard definition, it will not be available in high definition.
Change video quality
If you’re viewing YouTube videos on your computer, you can manually change the video quality by clicking the gear icon in the bottom right corner of the video player, and selecting your preferred quality.
You may see different quality options depending on which device you're using. If you don't see an option to select a video quality, that means playback quality is automatically determined.
If you’re signed in to YouTube on your computer, you can set default video quality preferences for all videos:

If you have a slow Internet connection, you can make the video load more quickly by using a lower quality setting.

Still rockin' the 56k? No problem. Even if you have a slow Internet connection, you can still watch YouTube videos. Here are some tips on optimizing your viewing experience:
Choose lower video quality settings (such as 240p and 360p) from the gear icon in the bottom right side of the video player.
Start the video and then click the Pause button immediately. Wait for the gray video progress bar to load a bit before clicking Play.
Change your video player settings to not default to the highest quality stream.
Try watching a shorter video; the shorter the video, the less time it takes to load.
Full Screen Mode
When you view a video, you can choose from three different size options: default, Large player or Full screen. To switch to full screen, click the rightmost rectangular icon in the bottom right corner of the video player. To exit out of full screen, press Esc on your keyboard or click the Full screen icon again.
If you have problems viewing full screen videos, make sure you have the most up-to-date version of Adobe Flash Player.

Creating a YouTube account
A Google account is needed to sign in to YouTube (ex. Gmail or Calendar etc.). If you do not have a Google account then you can go ahead and create one using the following steps:
Go to www.youtube.com
Click the "create account" link (located at the top of the page after the search button).
Complete the requested steps. Once you've signed up you'll have an account and can get started.
Having an account allows you to sign into YouTube and take advantage of YouTube's community features. You can upload videos, comment on videos, save videos to playlists etc.. These are just a few of the benefits of signing up for a YouTube account. You do not need to sign in to use some basic features of YouTube. Such as, searching for videos, viewing videos etc..

Navigate to www.youtube.com
Navigate to the search edit box at the top of the page.
Please note: Though the search edit box does not have a label, it is located at the top of the page, has a search button after it, and is the only edit box on this page.
Type a search term and press enter.
Search results
The search results page has a "did you mean" section which suggests proper words if you misspelled the word(s).
Prior to the search results, various sorting options are provided to help you sort through the results.
Each of the search results has the following information:
A title of the video along with the duration of the video which is a link and a graphic. Hence, navigating using graphics would help navigating to and through the results quicker. Clicking on this will play the video.
A "+" sign which is link. Clicking on this will play the video as well.
The text "added to queue".
The title of the video which is also a link. Clicking on it will play the video as well.
A snippet of the video.
Name of the individual who posted the video.
How many years ago the video was uploaded and the number of views it has had so far.
Sometimes you will find a heading level 2, "Related searches" with heading level 3s below it. These are other search categories related to the search term(s) you typed. Clicking any of these search categories will take you to another page which has video results for that category.
The YouTube Flash Player
Once you click one of the search results, the flash player will load and the video will start playing automatically. Here are the components and layout of the flash player:
Section headers:
H1 for the title of the video
H4 for "highest rated comments", "all comments", and "suggestions".
The flash player has the following components:
Subtitles:
If a video has subtitles then the subtitles are placed at the top of the video. The subtitles section begins with the text "subtitles start" followed by two lines of subtitles and end with the text "subtitles end". If the subtitles are on, the screen reader should say "Subtitles Loaded". If the subtitles are off, press the "Subtitles Unloaded" button, the button should change to "Subtitles Loading". Then after two seconds or so it should speak "Subtitles Loaded". From that point on the subtitles will appear at the beginning of the Flash player.
Play/pause button:
The button text toggles based on the current status of the video.
Seek slider:
The seek slider is used to fast forward or rewind the video and to increase or decrease the volume. To use the seek slider, first turn off virtual cursor then tab to the slider.
Use left/right arrow keys to fast forward/rewind the video and use the up/down arrow keys to increase/decrease volume.
Mute/unmute: This button toggles depending on whether the video is muted or not muted.
360p button:
This button changes the quality of the video in terms of pixels. Here are the available resolutions: 1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p (default), 240p, 240p Light
Pop-out button:
The pop-out button creates a new browser window and places only the player with the video that is currently playing. It leaves out all the content that is outside the actual player. This allows users to resize the player any way they like.
lightbulb icon The button is also useful for blind users who might want to get rid of all the extra elements in the HTML page around the player and be left just with the player on its own.
Its important to note, that if you have pop-up blocker enabled, then you'll need to disable the pop-up blocker in order to open this new window.
Expand/Shrink button:
The label of the button toggles depending on the current selection. Clicking the expand/shrink button makes the video player larger and smaller.
This button also increases the video quality when you expand the player, and uses a lower quality when you shrink it if the video has multiple qualities.
Time elapsed/total duration:
This section shows the total time elapsed over the total duration of the video. It shows you how much of the video has played already and how much there's still left to play.
Note: To replay the video, click on the "play" button after the video stops playing.

How to download an MP4 of an upload
Sign into your account.
Click on your username in the top right hand corner of your screen and select Video Manager from the expanded menu.
Find the video you'd like to download.
Click the arrow next to Edit to open a drop-down menu.
Click Download MP4.
Why can’t I download my video?
You won’t be able to download your videos under the following circumstances:
Your video has been removed from YouTube
You’re using a pre-approved audio track
Your video has copyrighted content
You’ve already download two videos in the last hour:
You can only download an individual video up to five times per day, so if you don’t see the “Download MP4” button, it may be because you’ve already exceeded that limit. Once a day has passed, the button will appear again.

Videos with captions available will have a “CC” icon underneath the video summary in search results. If you’d like search results to only show videos with captions available, enable this search filter:

YouTube has multiple settings to customize the font, color, size, and position of captions to suit your needs. To get started, first make sure you have captions turned on, then follow these steps:
Click the captions icon
Click Options
Click Display Settings
Select from the Font drop-down menu to customize font style
Click the + or - buttons to increase or decrease font size
Click the colored boxes next to Foreground to change the caption text color
Click the colored boxes next to Background to change the caption background color

Note: these will be your default captions format settings until you change them again or click Reset to go back to the default captions format.
To change the position of captions in the video player, simply click and drag the captions to the desired location.
Caption shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts allow you to quickly adjust caption formatting while watching your video. Click anywhere in the video player before using keyboard shortcuts in order for them to work.
“b” will toggle the background shading on or off
“+” makes the captions bigger

Captions are only available on videos where the owner has added them, and on certain videos where YouTube automatically provides them.

For videos with captions provided by the owner, you have the option to view the full captions transcript, and jump to specific parts of the video.
Here’s how to open this interactive transcript option:
Click the transcript icon underneath the video player. As you watch the video, the transcript will scroll to show you the current caption text.
Click on any line of caption text to jump to that part of the video.
Video quality
To give you the best viewing experience possible, YouTube adjusts the quality of your video stream from standard definition (such as 240p or 360p) to high definition (720p or 1080p), based on the speed of your Internet connection (bandwidth). This is why you may notice that the quality of your video changes as you watch videos.
Here are some other factors that determine video quality:
Video player size: By default, the quality setting will be on “Auto” and YouTube will use the highest quality based on your video player size.
Quality of the original uploaded video: For example, if the video was recorded in standard definition, it will not be available in high definition.

If you’re viewing YouTube videos on your computer, you can manually change the video quality by clicking the gear icon in the bottom right corner of the video player, and selecting your preferred quality.
You may see different quality options depending on which device you're using. If you don't see an option to select a video quality, that means playback quality is automatically determined.

Still rockin' the 56k? No problem. Even if you have a slow Internet connection, you can still watch YouTube videos. Here are some tips on optimizing your viewing experience:
Choose lower video quality settings (such as 240p and 360p) from the gear icon in the bottom right side of the video player.
Start the video and then click the Pause button immediately. Wait for the gray video progress bar to load a bit before clicking Play.
Change your video player settings to not default to the highest quality stream.
Try watching a shorter video; the shorter the video, the less time it takes to load.
Full Screen Mode
When you view a video, you can choose from three different size options: default, Large player or Full screen. To switch to full screen, click the rightmost rectangular icon in the bottom right corner of the video player. To exit out of full screen, press Esc on your keyboard or click the Full screen icon again.
If you have problems viewing full screen videos, make sure you have the most up-to-date version of Adobe Flash Player.

Visually impaired or blind people use screen readers. This article provides step-by-step process for using YouTube making it easier for a new user to explore YouTube.

Creating a YouTube account
A Google account is needed to sign in to YouTube (ex. Gmail or Calendar etc.). If you do not have a Google account then you can go ahead and create one using the following steps:
Go to www.youtube.com
Click the "create account" link (located at the top of the page after the search button).
Complete the requested steps. Once you've signed up you'll have an account and can get started.
Having an account allows you to sign into YouTube and take advantage of YouTube's community features. You can upload videos, comment on videos, save videos to playlists etc.. These are just a few of the benefits of signing up for a YouTube account. You do not need to sign in to use some basic features of YouTube. Such as, searching for videos, viewing videos etc..

Navigate to www.youtube.com
Navigate to the search edit box at the top of the page.
Please note: Though the search edit box does not have a label, it is located at the top of the page, has a search button after it, and is the only edit box on this page.
Type a search term and press enter.
Search results
The search results page has a "did you mean" section which suggests proper words if you misspelled the word(s).
Prior to the search results, various sorting options are provided to help you sort through the results.
Each of the search results has the following information:
A title of the video along with the duration of the video which is a link and a graphic. Hence, navigating using graphics would help navigating to and through the results quicker. Clicking on this will play the video.
A "+" sign which is link. Clicking on this will play the video as well.
The text "added to queue".
The title of the video which is also a link. Clicking on it will play the video as well.
A snippet of the video.
Name of the individual who posted the video.
How many years ago the video was uploaded and the number of views it has had so far.
Sometimes you will find a heading level 2, "Related searches" with heading level 3s below it. These are other search categories related to the search term(s) you typed. Clicking any of these search categories will take you to another page which has video results for that category.
The YouTube Flash Player
Once you click one of the search results, the flash player will load and the video will start playing automatically. Here are the components and layout of the flash player:
Section headers:
H1 for the title of the video
H4 for "highest rated comments", "all comments", and "suggestions".
The flash player has the following components:
Subtitles:
If a video has subtitles then the subtitles are placed at the top of the video. The subtitles section begins with the text "subtitles start" followed by two lines of subtitles and end with the text "subtitles end". If the subtitles are on, the screen reader should say "Subtitles Loaded". If the subtitles are off, press the "Subtitles Unloaded" button, the button should change to "Subtitles Loading". Then after two seconds or so it should speak "Subtitles Loaded". From that point on the subtitles will appear at the beginning of the Flash player.
Play/pause button:
The button text toggles based on the current status of the video.
Seek slider:
The seek slider is used to fast forward or rewind the video and to increase or decrease the volume. To use the seek slider, first turn off virtual cursor then tab to the slider.
Use left/right arrow keys to fast forward/rewind the video and use the up/down arrow keys to increase/decrease volume.
Mute/unmute: This button toggles depending on whether the video is muted or not muted.
360p button:
This button changes the quality of the video in terms of pixels. Here are the available resolutions: 1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p (default), 240p, 240p Light
Pop-out button:
The pop-out button creates a new browser window and places only the player with the video that is currently playing. It leaves out all the content that is outside the actual player. This allows users to resize the player any way they like.
lightbulb icon The button is also useful for blind users who might want to get rid of all the extra elements in the HTML page around the player and be left just with the player on its own.
Its important to note, that if you have pop-up blocker enabled, then you'll need to disable the pop-up blocker in order to open this new window.
Expand/Shrink button:
The label of the button toggles depending on the current selection. Clicking the expand/shrink button makes the video player larger and smaller.
This button also increases the video quality when you expand the player, and uses a lower quality when you shrink it if the video has multiple qualities.
Time elapsed/total duration:
This section shows the total time elapsed over the total duration of the video. It shows you how much of the video has played already and how much there's still left to play.
Note: To replay the video, click on the "play" button after the video stops playing.

Today, Instagram Is excited to bring you Instagram Direct, a new way to send photo and video messages to friends.
Over the past three years, the Instagram community has grown to over 150 million people capturing and sharing moments all around the globe. As we’ve grown, Instagram has evolved not only into a community of photographers, but also into a means of visual communication. From a photo of your daily coffee to a sunrise shared from the top of a mountain hike, every Instagram moment contains something you find special—something you broadcast to your followers when you tap “share.”
There are, however, moments in our lives that we want to share, but that will be the most relevant only to a smaller group of people—an inside joke between friends captured on the go, a special family moment or even just one more photo of your new puppy. Instagram Direct helps you share these moments.
From how you capture photos and videos to the way you start conversations through likes and comments, we built Instagram Direct to feel natural to the Instagram experience you already know. When you open Instagram, you’ll now see a new icon in the top right corner of your home feed. Tap it to open your inbox where you’ll see photos and videos that people have sent to you. To send a photo or video to specific people, tap the camera button to enter the same simple photo or video capture and editing screens. At the top of the share screen, you’ll see the option to share with your followers (“Followers”) or to send to specific people (“Direct”). To send using Direct, tap the names of the people you want to send your photo or video to, write your caption, tap “send” and you’re done.
After sending, you’ll be able to find out who’s seen your photo or video, see who’s liked it and watch your recipients commenting in real time as the conversation unfolds.
Photos and videos that you receive from people you follow will appear immediately. If someone you’re not following sends you a photo or video on Instagram, it will go to your requests so you can decide if you want to view it.
How Do i Use Direct
Instagram Direct lets you send a photo or video to a select group of people. Posts won’t appear in feed, search or your profile.
To send photos/videos with Instagram Direct:
Take a new photo/video or upload a photo/video from your camera roll.
Add optional effects, filters and a caption.
Tap Direct. You’ll see some features appear in green when you’re using Instagram Direct.
Tap the names of people you want to send the photo/video to (up to 15 people).
Tap Send.
The people you've sent the post to will get a notification. To see posts you've sent with Instagram Direct, tap in the top right of your Home feed.
Can i Use Instagram Direct to Send Posts to People im Not Following ?
Yes, you can send a photo or video to anyone when you use Instagram Direct. If you send a post to someone who doesn’t follow you, your post will go to their requests queue. If someone accepts your request, your post will go to their direct posts the next time you share directly with them. Posts that stay in the requests queue may become unavailable.
How Many People Can i Send my Post to With instagram Direct
You can send a post to up to 15 people with Instagram Direct.
How Do i Manage Posts i Have Sent and Recieved with Instagram Direct
When someone you follow sends a photo or video to you with Instagram Direct, it’ll go to your direct posts. Get to your direct posts by tapping in the top right of your Home feed.
If someone you don’t follow sends you a post, it’ll go to your requests queue. From there, you can choose to accept the request into your direct posts or to ignore it by tapping x. You can also tap Ignore All to ignore all requests at one time. When you accept requests, future posts sent to with you from that person will go to your direct posts.
Keep in mind that posts that stay in your requests queue may become unavailable after a while.
How Do i Report a Post that Was Sent to Me or Block Someone From Sending Posts to Me
You can report abusive posts that are sent to you. If you don't want someone to send a post to you, you can ignore their post in your direct posts by tapping x or you can block that person.

When you delete a sent post, it'll also be deleted from Instagram. The people you’ve sent it to won’t be able to see it.

Ignore people you don’t want to hear from. If you want to ignore all messages from someone you follow, you can always tap the ". . ." in your direct posts and select the option to Ignore All from that person."
Block people that bother you. If someone bothers you through messages or anywhere else on Instagram, use our blocking function so that that person can't view your photos/videos or search for your Instagram account. People aren't notified when you block them.
