What is a Disability ?

A disability, under Federal disability discrimination law, is a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of a person's major life activities (for example, caring for one's self, speaking, breathing, or learning). A disability need not be obvious; such conditions as learning disabilities, psychological illnesses, asthma, or infection with HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) may qualify as disabilities under the law.

Are There many Different Disabilites

Yes

Learning Disability is a classification including several disorders in which a person has difficulty learning in a typical manner, usually caused by an unknown factor or factors. The unknown factor is the disorder that affects the brain's ability to receive and process information. This disorder can make it problematic for a person to learn as quickly or in the same way as someone who is not affected by a learning disability. People with a learning disability have trouble performing specific types of skills or completing tasks if left to figure things out by themselves or if taught in conventional ways.i have a Learning Disability my Self

Dyslexia Dyslexia is a specific learning disability that is neurological in origin.

It is characterized by difficulties with accurate and/or fluent word recognition, and by poor spelling and decoding abilities.

These difficulties typically result from a deficit in the phonological component of language that is often unexpected in relation to other cognitive abilities and the provision of effective classroom instruction.

Secondary consequences may include problems in reading comprehension and reduced reading experience that can impede growth of vocabulary and background knowledge.

Are There Treatments For Some Disability's

Yes For Some of them there may Be For Others There May not Be

Deaf And Hearing loss Close to 1 million Americans are functionally deaf, while 10 million are hearing impaired or hard of hearing. Causes of deafness include secondary effects of disease or illness, injury, long-term exposure to environmental noise, damaging reactions to medications, and genetic factors, among others. With the assistance of hearing aids and other assistive technology, however, being deaf may have minimal impact on your ability to live a fully independent life.

Blind and Visual According to the National Federation of the Blind, it's estimated that about 1.3 million people in the U.S. are legally blind, and 75,000 more become blind or develop visual impairment each year. With the assistance of Braille, other blindness or low-vision aids, and adaptive sports opportunities, however, blindness need not signal the end of career opportunities, participation in sports, or an independent life

Amputations An amputation is the removal of a limb - such as an arm or a leg - surgically or due to trauma (such as a car accident, industrial accident, or war injury). Other conditions, such as diabetes, can also lead to amputations, for example, leg amputation. Life after an amputation, however, is about more than adjusting to sensations such as phantom limb loss and going through physical rehabilitation. Read about making good prosthesis choices, dealing with pain, skin management, and a broad range of adaptive fitness options, as well.

Musuclar Dystrophy Muscular dystrophy is the generic name of a group of nine diseases that weaken muscles. Of these, Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Becker muscular dystrophy are perhaps the best-known. The impacts of this disease often show up in multiple areas of the body's systems, such as the heart, the nervous system, and the eyes, among others

incontinence Urinary incontinence (stress incontinence and urge incontinence) is especially common for women who have given birth, while urinary and fecal incontinence can be a side effect of prostate cancer treatment. Fortunately, there are a number of effective ways to deal with this condition, including behavioral changes, medications, exercises, and physical therapies.
