Protect your Tweets

on Twitter All Tweets By Default are Public But What About if you Want to Tweet Something and Dont Feel Like Sharing it with the Whole World and you only want to Share it with your Followers im Going to Show you How to Protect your Tweets

Before i Get into this

What is the difference between public and protected Tweets?

When you sign up for Twitter, you have the option to keep your Tweets public (the default account setting) or to protect your Tweets.
Accounts with protected Tweets require manual approval of each and every person who may view that account's Tweets.
Who can see my Tweets?

Public Tweets (the default setting) are visible to anyone, whether or not they have a Twitter account.
Protected Tweets may only be visible to previously approved Twitter followers. Below is what an account with protected Tweets looks like to someone who is not an approved follower:

Why would I protect my Tweets?

If you want to control who sees your messages, you may choose to protecting your Tweets. You can always change your mind and make them public later.

When you protect your Tweets, the following restrictions are put in place:

People will have to request to follow you; each follow request will need approval. Learn more.
Your Tweets will only be visible to users you've approved.
Other users will not be able to retweet your Tweets. Learn more.
Protected Tweets will not appear in Twitter search or Google search.
@replies you send to people who aren't following you will not be seen by those users (because you have not given them permission to see your Tweets).
You cannot share permanent links to your Tweets with anyone other than your approved followers.

How to Protect your Tweets

How to protect your Tweets:

Go to your account settings by clicking on the person icon at the top right of the page and selecting Settings from the drop-down menu.
Scroll down to the Tweet privacy section and check the box next to Protect my tweets (shown below).
Click the blue Save button at the bottom of the page. You will be prompted to enter your password to confirm the change.

How to un-protect your Tweets:

You can always make your Tweets public by un-checking the Tweet privacy option (shown above) in your account settings and then saving your changes.
Be sure to review your pending follower requests before making your Tweets public. Any requests left pending will not be accepted automatically. If left pending, those users will need to follow you again.

MeetMe IM

On MeetMe you Have the Option to IM People Im Going to Tell you All About it

How To Turn it Off

There are three ways to turn IM off.

To remove the IM bar entirely, choose one of these two ways:

Visit your homepage and click to turn IM off in the top right corner.
Choose "Off" for your IM setting on the Settings page.

If you just want to log off temporarily, click to open your buddy list at the bottom right of any MeetMe page. At the top of the buddy list, click your name to change your IM status to Away or Busy, or to sign out of IM entirely. If you sign out, the IM bar will remain at the bottom right corner of the screen for you to sign back on whenever you want.

Who Can i Chat with on MeetMe

You can IM any of your friends who are online, as long as they haven't chosen to disable IM. To find a friend to IM, click to open your buddy list at the bottom right of any MeetMe page.

How to Block Someone From Sending me Messages

If you want to block someone from sending you IMs, just click the "Block" button under their photo within the conversation window. This will remove that user from your friends list, block them from sending you IMs, and keep them from communicating with you via Messages on MeetMe.

Reporting Inappropriate Material Or Spam on IM

If you receive an IM containing spam or inappropriate material, click the "Report" button under the other user's photo within the conversation window. This will alert MeetMe Member Services of the event.

My IM Bar Is Missing Where Did it Go

You probably turned IM off. To turn it back on, click the IM toggle link within the Themes

Why Dont i See all of my IM Online Now Friends

The buddy list is limited to show a maximum of 300 online friends. Don't worry -- you can still IM online friends who don't show up in your buddy list! You can either search for them in the buddy search box at the top of the list, or you can go to their profile and click the IM icon.

My Friends Profile Says Shes Online but Does not Appear on Chat

Generally, this means that your friend has chosen to sign out of IM, but is still logged into MeetMe. Just send them a message instead of an IM!

Turn The Sound Off

Click to open your buddy list in the bottom right of any MeetMe page, then click the speaker icon at the top of the buddy list window. You can always click the speaker icon again if you want to re-enable IM sounds.

What Do the Different Circles Mean in your Buddy List

The circles to the left of your friends' names in the buddy list represent their IM status.

A green circle means that this friend is online and available to chat with.

A yellow circle means that this friend has gone away from the computer.

A red circle means that this friend is busy and would prefer not to receive IMs.

A gray circle means that this friend is not online.

Found a Error With Chat How do i Report it

Click the "Suggestions?" link in the footer of any MeetMe page. Please be as detailed and descriptive as possible. The more information we have about the bug, the quicker we will be able to fix it. Thanks for your help!

Why is my IM Bar Stuck on Reconnecting

Sometimes this behavior occurs when you log out and log back in within less than a minute. Often you can resolve this problem simply by changing pages. If not, you should be reconnected to MeetMe IM within two minutes.

We are working with Meebo on a fix for this issue.

Why Do i Keep on Getting Signed Out From Chat

We are working with Meebo on the issue of being randomly signed out of IM, especially when changing pages.

If it happens to you, click the "Suggestion?" link in the footer of any MeetMe page to tell us about it.

Please be as descriptive as possible in your report. Specifically, please tell us what page you were on, what browser and operating system you were using (e.g. "Internet Explorer 7 in Windows XP"), and any other details you think may be useful. The more information we have about the circumstances, the more likely it is that we'll be able to resolve your particular issue.

im Using a AOL Browser How Come the IM Bar is Not Appearing

Unfortunately, AOL's built-in browser is not supported for IM Beta. We would suggest downloading and using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

MeetMe Causes

What is Causes

Causes is an application that allows MeetMe members to help save the planet by turning their Lunch Money into real money for real charities. We're proud to say that Causes is one of the top sources of charitable giving from young people on this planet.

While giving a few grains of rice may seem small, when multiplied by the millions of MeetMe users who log in every month, we are able to have a real impact on the world stage and actually do something concrete to Save the Planet.

At the end of every month, MeetMe writes a large check to the Causes described below based on the giving activity of our members. When you purchase an item through Causes, we record the purchase and translate your Lunch Money into real US dollars. For example, we multiply the number of grains of rice bought by our members that month to support the Hunger cause and multiply that amount by the cost of a grain of rice in US dollars and determine the total donation to be made to the listed cause based on the giving activity of our members.

We have committed tens of thousands of dollars per month to supporting the Causes of our members and hope, as our membership grows, to make this number even bigger.

Thanks to the generosity of our members, we are able to supply several charitable organizations with the real cash donations they need to support their mission and help make a difference in this world --- to help fight poverty, global warming, disease, and animal abuse.

The reason this can work is because MeetMe has sponsors. These sponsors want to reach teens, and young people (hopefully all people) want to help charities save the planet. The genius of Causes is in connecting these three very different groups -- Teens, Sponsors, and Charities --- and bringing them together to make a difference in the world. We currently cap our total monthly donation from MeetMe at US$20,000 per month -- which makes us one of the largest sources of donations from young people -- and we intend to increase that limit as we get more sponsors to support this endeavor.

To support Causes, MeetMe has recently launched a service that awards Lunch Money to give to Causes if you engage in a variety of sponsored actions. While MeetMe will always be Free, we appreciate every member who helps support us. Placing an ad on your profile may seem like a small thing to do, but that is the way we are able to make this whole idea work.

We thank all our members for their generous spirit, and we intend to make this Causes section the top source of charitable giving from young people on this planet.

There is a Cause i want to Support but its Not Here

Member suggestions are essential as we strive to expand the "Causes" section of MeetMe. To suggest another cause for MeetMe members to support, please send an email to causes@meetme.com with the official name of the organization and a link to the organization's website.

Thanks again for your generous spirit and commitment to charitable giving!

What are the Badges

Badges are a way to show your friends how much you care about a specific cause. Each Cause has different badges, and there are also mystery badges. There are 10 badges you can get for each cause. To receive a badge, donate Lunch Money to some causes. The more Lunch Money you donate, the more badges you can get!

How Do i Increase my Rank With Causes

Your rank in Causes is based off of the total amount of Lunch Money you've donated to all Causes. It's easy to increase your rank -- just donate some more Lunch Money!

Privacy On Instagram

Privacy on Instagram is Very important So im Going to Explain to you about Privacy
By default, anyone can view your profile on Instagram. If you would like to make sure only approved followers can see your profile:
Go to your profile by tapping the far right address card icon
Tap the settings icon in the upper right corner
Apple iOS -- Scroll to "Photos are private" and toggle the switch to ON to turn on privacy. Android -- Tap on "Photo privacy" then tap the box to turn on privacy.
Once you turn on Privacy, anyone who wants to see your photos, or followers & following lists, will have to send you a follow request that will appear in your News > You feed, which you can then approve or ignore. To approve or deny a follow request, just tap on the username that appears in the request. You'll then be brought to their profile page and at the top of this page you will see an "approve" and "ignore" button.
Photo Map
When a private user has a location associated with a photo, the photo will also appear on their Photo Map.
Only the private user will be able to see that photo on the geolocation tag page. Private users' images, even when geotagged, are hidden from their approved followers and from the public.
Only the private user and their approved followers will be able to see that photo on a Photo Map. Private users' images, even when geotagged, are hidden from the public.
Private users can add hashtags to photos, but only the private user and their approved followers will be able to see that photo on the hashtag page. Private users' images, even when hashtagged, are hidden from the public.
Likes
If a private user uploads a photo then an approved follower likes that image, the private photo will notappear in the News > Following feed.
If a private user likes a photo that a public user uploaded, their like will be visible and their username will be click-able below that public user's photo
Comments
If a private user @ mentions a user who is not an approved follower on one of their private photos, the user will be able to see part of the comment in the News > You feed, may receive a push notification (if their notification settings are turned on), but will not be able to navigate through to the private photograph.
If a private user leaves a comment on a photo that a public user uploaded, their comment will be visible and their username will be click-able below that photo.
Sharing Photos
If a private user shares a photo to a social network (such as Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, etc.) using Instagram the image will be visible on that network and the permalink will be active, in other words, the photo will be publicly accessible by anyone who has access to the image's direct link/URL.
It's important to note that sharing a photo to a social network does not mean that the image will be visible in Instagram. The account will still appear private to those who are not approved followers, as seen in the screenshot below.

Twitter Account Compromised

If your account has been compromised but you're still able to log in, this page will help you secure your account and stop unwanted behaviors.

Has my account been compromised?

Have you:

Noticed unexpected Tweets by your account
Seen unintended direct messages (DMs) sent from your account
Observed other count behaviors you didn't make or approve (like following, unfollowing, or blocking)
Received a notification from us stating that "You recently changed the email address associated with your Twitter account." (even though you haven't changed your email address)

The Answer is yes if all Of Those Things Apply

Take the Following Actions To Stop This Behavior

1. Change your password

Please change your password immediately from the Password tab in settings. Please select a strong password you haven't used before. If you can't log in to your account, please see this troubleshooting page.

2. Revoke connections to third-party applications

While logged in, visit Apps in your settings. Revoke access for any third-party application that you don't recognize.

3. Update your password in your trusted third-party applications

If a trusted external application uses your Twitter password, be sure to update your password in that application. Otherwise, your may be temporarily locked out of your account due to failed login attempts.

Your account should now be secure, and you shouldn't see the unexpected account behaviors

If you Are Still having Problems Contact Twitter Here

Protect your account with simple precautions!

If your account has been compromised, take these additional precautions:

Delete any unwanted Tweets that were posted while your account was compromised.
Scan your computers for viruses and malware, especially if unauthorized account behaviors continue to be posted after you've changed the password.
Install security patches for your operating system and applications.
Always use a strong, new password you don't use elsewhere and would be difficult to guess.
Visit our Safe Tweeting help page for more information on avoiding hacks and phishing.
How do accounts become compromised? (Did somebody hack me?)

Accounts may become compromised if you’ve entrusted your username and password to a malicious third-party application or website, if your Twitter account is vulnerable due to a weak password, if viruses or malware on your computer are collecting passwords, or if you're on a compromised network.

Unexpected updates don't always mean that your account was hacked. Occasionally, a third-party application can have a bug that causes unexpected behavior. If you see strange behavior, changing your password and/or revoking connections will stop it, as the application will no longer have access to your account.

It's best to take action as soon as possible if updates are appearing in your account that you did not post or approve.

Aggressive Following

What is Aggressive Following

Aggressive following is defined as indiscriminately following hundreds of accounts just to garner attention. However, following a few users if their accounts seem interesting is normal and is not considered aggressive.

Are you Allowed to Do This On Twitter

No you Are Not Allowed

aggressive follow churn

If you decide to follow someone and then change your mind later, you can just visit the person’s profile page and un-follow them. Aggressive follow churn is when an account repeatedly follows and then un-follows a large number of users. This may be done to get lots of people to notice them, to circumvent a Twitter limit, or to change their follower-to-following ratio. These behaviors negatively impact the Twitter experience for other users, are common spam tactics, and may lead to account suspension.

Why Does Twitter Monitor Things Like This ?

Twitter works quite differently from social networks: when you accept friend requests on other social networks like Facebook, it usually means you appear in that person's network and they appear in yours. Following on Twitter is different because following is not mutual. Twitter allows people to opt-in to (or opt-out of) receiving a person's updates without requiring a mutual relationship.

Limits on Twitter alleviate some of the strain on the invisible part of Twitter, which prevents error pages and downtime on the visible part. For the sake of reliability, we've placed limits on actions like following, API requests per hour, and number of updates per day (see this page for more information on updating and API limits).

Finally, follower violations are one tactic that spammers often use to abuse Twitter. Monitoring for abuse is one way to reduce spam on Twitter.

Tip: If you need to communicate with someone but don't need to see their updates every day, don't follow them. Visit their profile or send them an @reply when you need to; sending @replies doesn't require following, and your reply will appear in the person's @mentions tab so they can reply back.

How Am i Supposed To Get Followers Than ?

Remember, Twitter isn’t a race to get the most followers. If you follow users that you’re interested in and post meaningful content, it’s more likely that legitimate users will find you and read your updates. People follow other users on Twitter to read updates that are interesting to them. Aggressively following and un-following accounts is frustrating to other Twitter users and degrades the Twitter experience for everyone.

i Have Seen Other Peoples Accounts Get Deleted Because of this So i Highly Recommend Not Doing this Not Cool

Facebook Ticker

Facebook Ticker is the Small Thing that appears on your Home page to the Right Side of the Screen

What is The Ticker

Ticker shows you the things you can already see on Facebook, but in real time.

Keep up with the latest news as it happens
Listen to music with your friends
Click or hover over a story to join in the conversation

Remember: People can only see the posts, comments and likes that you share with them. So if you share something with friends, only they will see it in ticker.

What Type of Story's Appear in the Ticker

Ticker includes live stories—things like status updates, friendships, photos, videos, links, likes and comments. You can see this activity elsewhere on Facebook. Ticker just lets you see it as it happens.

Can i Close Hide or Resize or Move Ticker

Yes, in most cases. On small screens, you can hide ticker by clicking  in the upper-right corner of ticker. On larger screens, you can resize ticker by dragging the horizontal bar between ticker and chat up and down

Controlling What i see in the View Of my Ticker

Hide a story you see in ticker:
Click a story you see in ticker
Click the  menu in the top right
Choose "Hide story"
Also, the hide and unsubscribe settings you use to control what you see in your news feed will impact what shows in ticker. For example, if you hide someone from your news feed entirely by unsubscribing from them, they won’t show up in ticker. This includes people you’ve already hidden. You might choose to only see "Important Only" or "Most Updates" from someone in your news feed, but don't want to unsubscribe from them entirely. In this case, ticker will show more from them than your news feed.

Why is The Ticker Not On my Account

Ticker only shows up for people with a certain level of account activity. If you don't see ticker, it's probably because you don't use Facebook a lot, so there's not enough content to make ticker useful to you.

If you like how active you are on Facebook right now, you don't need to change anything. If you'd like to be more active, you can:

The Difference Between the Ticker That Shows When i use Games And Apps and the Ticker On my Home Page And Timeline

When you are playing an app, ticker will focus on stories associated with the games you play. When you are not playing a game or using an app, ticker will show all types of updates, not just game and apps stories.

Will The Ticker Change Privacy Settings

No. Ticker only displays information that you’re already able to see elsewhere on Facebook. If you start seeing stories in ticker that you haven't noticed before, it’s probably because ticker makes things easier to discover. It doesn’t mean that privacy around Facebook has changed.

You can control the privacy of everything you post to Facebook through the privacy settings next to your post. Remember that when you comment or like something, the comment or like will have the same privacy settings as the original post.

Am i Seeing Posts in the Ticker that i Dont Have Permission to See

No. Commenting or liking a post doesn't change its privacy settings. If you can't see a post because of its privacy settings, it won't show up to you anywhere on Facebook, including in your news feed or in your ticker.
Who Can See my Comments And Likes in the ticker

To control stories about your commenting activity in ticker and news feed, always check who can see the privacy of the posts you're commenting on.If you aren't comfortable with who can see the post, please don't comment on it or like it. If you do, a story about your activity will be eligible to appear on Facebook, including on your timeline (profile), in news feed and in ticker. Remember, your comments and likes are only visible to people who can see the original post. For example, you might comment on a photo one of your family members posts just to family. A friend of yours who cannot already view the photo will not see a story in ticker about your comment.

Please note that unsubscribing from a friend's 'comments and likes' in your news feed, does not have any impact on whether your friends see it when you comment on or like their posts.

What Sponsor Story's May Show in the Ticker

Ticker only displays information to others who are already able to see elsewhere on Facebook. Page Like, App Share and App Used Sponsored Stories are eligible to appear in ticker for others to see, but only if they could have already seen them in their news feeds.

What Are # Symbols on Twitter

Definition The # symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keywords or topics in a Tweet. It was created organically by Twitter users as a way to categorize messages

Using hashtags to categorize Tweets by keyword:

People use the hashtag symbol # before a relevant keyword or phrase (no spaces) in their Tweet to categorize those Tweets and help them show more easily in Twitter Search.
Clicking on a hashtagged word in any message shows you all other Tweets marked with that keyword..
Hashtags can occur anywhere in the Tweet – at the beginning, middle, or end.
Hashtagged words that become very popular are often Trending Topics.
Example: In the Tweet below, @eddie included the hashtag #FF. Users created this as shorthand for "Follow Friday," a weekly tradition where users recommend people that others should follow on Twitter. You'll see this on Fridays.

Using hashtags correctly

If you Tweet with a hashtag on a public account, anyone who does a search for that hashtag may find your Tweet
Don't #spam #with #hashtags. Don't over-tag a single Tweet. (Best practices recommend using no more than 2 hashtags per Tweet.)
Use hashtags only on Tweets relevant to the topic.

And if you Click on Any Hashtag it will Show you Whos Tweeting About that Particular Thing

Does The Hashtag Work With Facebook

The Hashtag Will Show up on Facebook but on From Facebook it will not link out to anything However when you View the Tweet on Twitter it Will Show

Can i Make my Own Hashtag

Yes you Can All you Got to Do is Type in # and than What Ever Name you Want to Start and you have your Own HashTag

And Anybody That Tweets About that you will Be Able to View All The Tweets That Have that Inside Them

Do you have to be in the VIP Club in Order to Send Gifts

No!

VIP Club members can send up to 30 VIP Gifts per day FREE, but all members can use Lunch Money to customize and send VIP Gifts for their friends.

Why Dont i  Get Extra Lunch Money For Cashed Out Owned Photo Purchases Battle Wangers ETC

VIP Club members get extra Lunch Money for almost every type of Lunch Money earning on MeetMe. The few exceptions are generally areas where one member pays Lunch Money to another member (as in Owned and Battles), or where the VIP Club Lunch Money bonus would introduce an obvious exploit.

Does the VIP Club Get Noticed More in Match And Bidders in Owned

Yes VIP Club members appear more often in Match and Owned. Appearing more often means more people viewing them and more people clicking Yes or Own! on them.

What Happen To VIP Points

VIP Points have been removed, and now everyone can give VIP Gifts! Instead of costing VIP Points, they now cost Lunch Money -- but VIP Club members can give up to 30 VIP Gifts FREE every day! Click here for more details.

If you had purchased VIP Points and had not spent them yet, they have been converted into Lunch Money at a conversion rate of L$2,000 per 1 VIP point. You can still use those funds to send VIP Gifts, but now you also have the option to buy your friends in Owned, donate to Causes, and more.
